Feest London

My friends will tell you, after gin and tonic, cheese and wine are my favourite duo, so you can imagine my joy when DateNight_LDN was invited to visit the lovely Lottie at Feest this evening. Feest is renowned for its Fondue and I for one and him for two are excited.

To Homerton we go!

Just around the corner from the overground we are greeted by a bright colourful cube that certainly wouldn't look out of place at a festival and in this dreary weather it is a very welcome site.

The owner, Lottie lives and breaths Feest, she has been living out her dream since 2014 doing festivals, pop up's, parties and street food. Feest means 'to party or 'celebration' in Dutch - I like this place already, it is a long weekend after all.

Feest has set up camp at the very cool Hatch and is sticking around until May - you haven't got long to get your fondue on! Hatch its welcoming and I kind of want to move in, it's like the house I always wanted.

We are taken up a spiral staircase to an area that is a little bit away from it all and kind of perfect for a date. We even get to sit next to each other, which for me is an instant win.

For starter's we are treated to sweet potato wedges and Mojo mayo. It is quite hard to muck up sweet potato but these are crispy and the majo has a lovely kick to it, we are very happy about the whole thing. The plat de jour changes everyday and on tonight's menu we have Slow Roasted Ox Cheek, but of course we went for the Fondue!

The moment we'd been waiting for did not disappoint, all hail the fondue pot.

Oh course Fondue is nothing without the dipping tools, how do Marmite Croutons sound? Or grilled potato and cauliflower? Everything you would need was presented to us both - we had a lot of food!

I thought we were facing a cheese mountain but it was the perfect amount, a pot of wine and cheese goodness!... Going outside in the rain was getting less and less appealing!

If you are looking for somewhere to come for date number three (ish) -food sharing isn't usually recommended on date number one, then the Hatch and Feest combination is an excellent option! Especially if you want to show your date somewhere slightly off the beaten track that does not compromise on its offerings - really good homemade, delicious food in an atmosphere that makes the stress of a busy week seem like a life time ago.

His opinion: Perfect place to let out your inner Hipster, it reminds me a bit of a hostel, so chilled.

Her opinion: Hatch has the best vibe, it is so relaxing and Feest could not be a better accompaniment, I want to move in here ...is that allowed?!

Food Recommendation: The best thing about the menu is that plat de jour changes everyday so there is always going to be something you haven't had here before, however the fondue did it for me, what is not to love.

Upcoming events: Feest also offer fondue at home! They will come to your house and recreate the magic in your own home. Imagine, at home with fondue!
